Hereditary

There’s really two reviews here.

  1. This is a beautifully shot movie with wonderful acting and exceptional directing. The editing is spot-on brilliant and the whole movie is just fantastic to watch. Creative with lighting, POV, pace and soundtrack. I especially appreciated the nuance in the actors delivery. Not once did I feel like I was in a stereotype. Creeping dread came through over and over with such a soft touch. The power of the tragedies was so real it hurt and when the camera turned away from their angst I was relieved not to spy on them anymore. This movie felt REAL most of the time. Painfully, tragically real.  Was it scary? Yes. I believe it was. So, this movie totally gave me 100% horror.
  2. This story is ridiculous and the ending was stupid.
